According to a World Bank 2019 report, women contribute 37% of the Global GDP despite representing almost half of the world’s population.
Gender inequalities can be called out as a major factor in this. The 2030 Sustainable Development Goals will remain a shadow if young women still encounter gender disparities.
If Goal 5 of the SDG which talks about gender equality isn’t achieved, other goals, 1, 2, 3, 8, and 10 will only struggle to be attained.
The global population of women to too big to be shoved under the carpet of misrepresentation.
According to a UN Women report, when more women work, economies grow. Women’s economic empowerment boosts productivity and increases economic diversification and income equality in addition to other positive development outcomes.
As HEIR Women Hub proceeds on the Economic Justice project with the support of the African Women Trust Fund, we want to urge every duty bearer to contribute their best quota to bridge the gap of economic disparity in our society.
