In 2013, Sheryl Sandberg started the trend ‘get a seat at the table’ and it has been used to further elaborate and explain the importance of being able to get yourself seen and most importantly, heard.
Success is relative and a really great combination or mix of excellent grades coupled with great attitude and an understanding of life disposition, helps build an even greater and successful human being.
I find that to become a member of this table of decision makers and change leaders, 3 things need to be greatly considered.
They are character, competence and capacity.
Character – My dad always emphasised on having and building upon very good behaviour. It is important to know that yes, we do have personalities that define us all however the key is to intentionally have the character that is sustainable, impactful and of high value. Good character keeps you, guides you and gets you far in life.

Competence – To get something done with expertise and to do it efficiently and effectively. Competence can come either through building on a skill or talent. Capacity – You may not know what maximum you can take until you try. Capacity is the amount you can either produce or become and there are many ways to build on your capacity. The key thing is to increase your area of required capacity and become more than you were originally created to be.
